Personal Profile
Dr. Chen obtained his B.S. degree in Department of Electrophysics, National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan (June 2004), and his Ph.D degree in Institute of Electro-Optical Engineering, National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan (September 2012). During June 2010-May 2012, Dr. Chen went in for a part-time Ph.D research assistant work in Institute of Molecular and Genomic Medicine, National Health Research Institutes ( NHRI), Taiwan. During Aril-May 2012, Dr. Chen visited the lab of Professor Xiaohang Yang in College of Life Sciences, Zhejiang University. During September 2013-June 2018, Dr. Chen finished his Postdoctoral fellowship research work. In July 2018, Dr. Chen was engaged as Younger Investigator in Institute of Metabolism and Integrative Biology (IMIB), Fudan University. Since December 2024, Dr. Chen has been employed as Investigator in IMIB, Fudan University.
Research Interests
Dr. Chen is mainly interested in the study of molecular mechanism in lipid droplet biology and lipid homeostasis. Utilizing quantitative bio-imaging, biophysical modeling assays, artificial intelligence methods, and classical molecular and biochemical methods, we attempt to address the causes of dysfunctional lipid metabolism and pathophysiological phenotypes in metabolic diseases, such as obesity, diabetes, and fatty liver.
