Personal Profile

Dr. Yang obtained her B.S. in Biological Science in Tsinghua University in 2007 and Ph.D. in Translational Biology and Molecular Medicine in Baylor College of Medicine. She has studied the molecular mechanisms underlying  immunodeficiency in MeCP2 duplication syndrome. She joined Tongji University School of Medicine in 2013 and worked there as an assistant professor and then associate professor. During 2013-2020, she has focused on the regulatory role of novel immune cytokines in angiogenesis and tumor progression. She joined Institute of Metabolism and Integrative Biology of Fudan University in 2020.

Research Interests

Immune cells’ activation and differentiation is associated with metabolic reprogramming. Immune cells’ metabolism influences their differentiation, function and homeostasis. We are mainly interested in:
1. The effect of metabolism on the pathogenesis of inflammatory lung diseases including asthma, pneumonia, influenza;
2. The effect of metabolism on immune cell function;
3. The effect of metabolism on disease tolerance in systemic inflammation.
